About Us

BabyTravelPlanet.com was conceived over a campfire in Canada’s Algonquin Park in September 2006, by the two of us. We are a husband and wife team, Jen and Ian Stoddart, and we were enjoying a wilderness camping/canoeing trip. Over the campfire on the last day of our trip we were talking about how our life was about to change as we were expecting our first child before the end of the year.

We spoke about our excitement about our soon-to-be-born baby, and we also wondered if our travel days would be limited for the next number of years as our new family grew. We decided that night that we enjoyed traveling too much to give it up. We also knew many friends and family that enjoyed traveling as well. We decided that we would learn as much as we could about how to travel with a baby. We were committed to traveling our new baby’s planet. We thought and dreamed that sometimes our travels would be in our neighbourhood in Ancaster Ontario Canada, sometimes our travels would be across town, sometimes we would travel with our baby on a wilderness camping/canoeing trip, sometimes our travel would include air travel and sometimes it would even include a cruise in the Caribbean. We also committed to traveling with our baby on adventures that were happy, safe, easy and affordable. We looked for and found reasonably priced products that made baby travel safe,and easy. And as we looked for ways to make baby travel fun, easy and safe we learned lots of new ideas and tips. We then started our web site called BabyTravelPlanet.com so that we could share with others information about the baby travel products that we found and use what we learned about baby travel to make baby travel a happy, safe, easy and affordable experience for mom, dad and baby.

In December 2006 our first son, Holden Brock Stoddart was born. Jude Everley Stoddart arrived in September 2008 and now the four of us travel Holden and Jude’s planet together. We are thrilled that you have visited our site.
