Baby Proof Your Vacation Destination
When you go on holidays to a vacation destination or to someone’s home you will want to think about baby proofing where you will be staying. If you are going to someone’s home pick one or two rooms where you will spend your time and baby proof these rooms. Then close the doors to the other rooms to avoid having to baby proof an entire house.
Here is our checklist of baby proofing items you should pack when you travel
- Electric outlet caps, take at least 10, more if you are staying at someone’s home
- A portable baby gate; you can even use the baby gate to protect your child from going into the bathroom area at a hotel, which makes one less area you will have to baby proof
- Door knob safety covers
- Cord shorteners to wrap electrical cords that are dangling
- A first aid kit
When you reach your destination some things to consider are…
- What the emergency numbers are in that area for ambulance and poison control
- Check the smoke alarms and know where the emergency exits are located
- Remove all breakable items
- Move all plants out of babies reach; they may be poisonous
